Maryam Assad

Maryam Assad is an associate attorney with Hughes & Hughes. Ms. Assad grew up in Palos Verdes, California and attended UCLA, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

After finishing her undergraduate degree, Ms. Assad obtained a Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where she graduated cum laude, and as a member of the esteemed Law Review program. As a staff writer of Law Review, Ms. Assad wrote an article on the negative consequences of an inadequate divorce standard in California, entitled, "For Better, For Worse, or Until I Get Bored."

After law school, Ms. Assad obtained an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. Upon completing the graduate tax program, Ms. Assad worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, focusing on international business and tax planning for various Fortune 500 companies in the oil and gas sector.

An avid skier, Ms. Assad enjoys skiing in Mammoth, Lake Tahoe, Utah and the French Alps. Ms. Assad also has a culinary passion, as she studied under world renowned chef, Sebastien Chambru, at Le Moulin de Mougins L’Ecole de Cuisine in Provence, South France.

While Ms. Assad is a strong advocate for marriage, she understands the difficulties married couples face and strives to reach the most equitable solution for all her clients.
