Alexis Kokkinos
Alexis A. Kokkinos is an associate attorney at Hughes & Hughes. Mrs. Kokkinos was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Ms. Kokkinos is a graduate of Florida State University and University of San Diego School of Law. As a law student, Ms. Kokkinos was active in the Student Bar Association serving as the ABA Vice Chair and Chair in subsequent years. She was also one of 12 students selected to be a member of the Dean-Student Advisory Committee. During law school Ms. Kokkinos was given the opportunity to work as an intern for the Navy JAG Corps. During her time as an intern she was faced with several family law issues, which sparked an interest in family law. Upon graduating Ms. Kokkinos was given the Pro Bono Service Recognition Award.
Prior to joining Hughes & Hughes, Ms. Kokkinos worked as In-House Counsel at a small business in Virginia Beach. While she found the position interesting, her passion for family law drove her back to California where she worked at an adoption law firm. Ms. Kokkinos is licensed to practice by both the State Bar of California and the Virginia State Bar.
Ms. Kokkinos spends her free time practicing (and sometimes teaching) yoga, at the gym, hiking, biking, hanging in her hammock reading, and doing anything else where she can enjoy the outdoors. She also is a Kaplan LSAT instructor.
Personal Note: Family law cases can be incredibly stressful for all involved. As a family law attorney it is my goal to actively communicate with clients to manage their fears and guide them easily through the legal process while also fiercely advocating for their rights.
