Coachella Valley Family Law Firm - Hughes and Hughes

Meg Tanaka is an associate attorney with Hughes & Hughes.  Ms. Tanaka grew up in Orange County, California. 

Ms. Tanaka earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she majored in Psychology and Political Science. 

Ms. Tanaka earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Irvine School of Law.  As a member of the second class, she enjoyed creating a new school together with her classmates and colleagues.  Throughout law school, she volunteered with the Senior Citizens Legal Advocacy Program at the Legal Aid Society of Orange County.  As an intern with the child protection team trial unit of the County Counsel’s Office, she advocated in the courtroom for the welfare of children.

Upon graduation, Ms. Tanaka served as a fellow with California’s civil rights agency and handled discrimination cases.  She then helped launch the Elder Abuse Clinic at the courthouse in Santa Ana, California, and supervised the Clinic where attorneys and law students assisted the public in navigating the restraining order process for elder abuse and dependent adult abuse.  

Ms. Tanaka understands the legal process can be overwhelming and strives to make it as manageable as possible.  She enjoys tennis, going to the beach, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
